How to choose microfiber
Match weave to job: plush high-GSM towels for buffing waxes and coatings, waffle or twist-loop for drying, edgeless for paint, and cheap short-pile towels for wheels, engine bays and interiors.
Keep towel sets separated by job. A towel that has touched a wheel cleaner or a tire dressing should never go back on paint.
Wash microfiber in a dedicated microfiber detergent with no fabric softener and no bleach, and dry on low or no heat. Buying towels by the pack and a proper detergent together is what keeps them working.
