Chemical first
Iron removers dissolve embedded ferrous particles; tar removers handle petroleum-based contamination. Both work in shade on a cool surface.

Mechanical second
Clay bars, mitts and towels shear off whatever chemistry could not dissolve. Always use plenty of lubricant and light pressure.

Then decide
Claying can leave light marring on soft paint. If you plan to polish afterward, that is fine. If not, use the least aggressive medium that gets it clean.

Re-protect
Decon strips protection. Follow with a sealant, wax or coating the same day.
