Sort by job
Keep separate colors or bins for wheels, interiors, glass, polish removal and coating application. Never cross them.

Wash correctly
Use a dedicated microfiber detergent, warm water, no fabric softener and no dryer sheets. Softener fills the fibers and kills absorbency.

Dry low or air dry
High heat melts the fibers. Low heat or hang dry keeps the nap plush.

Retire honestly
Stiff, matted, snagged or contaminated towels get demoted to wheels, engine bays or shop rags — not paint.
