Wheels

A wheel and tire workflow that actually saves time

Wheels are usually the dirtiest part of the vehicle and the easiest place to lose twenty minutes. Sequence fixes that.

01

Work top-down, wheels first

Clean wheels and tires before the body so overspray and fallout land on paint you have not washed yet.

02

Let the chemistry dwell

Spray, let the product work for the time on the label, then agitate. Scrubbing immediately wastes product and effort.

03

Brush selection

Match the tool to the surface: soft face brushes for finishes, barrel brushes for the inner well, a stiff brush for tire sidewalls only.

  • Never use tire-scrubbing brushes on wheel faces
  • Keep separate buckets for wheels and paint

04

Dress last

Dress tires after the wheel is dry and the car is washed, so sling and overspray do not land on clean paint.
